BIRDS AND THANKSGIVING

Yes, I am still around and alive. At least the last time I checked I was alive. I have no excuse for not doing any posts all this time. So on that note here is a new post:

Thanksgiving morning I was outside collecting the food bowls for the outside/feral kitties. I was standing there enjoying the day, when I noticed a small noise. It was a soft "tic, tic". I started looking around trying to figure out what was making the noise. At first, I thought it was a rain drop or two. No, it was not that. Then I noticed the items twirling down from above. What was coming down was this:



So I started to look up into the tree that I was under. What I saw was this:

















At first I thought these little guys were English Sparrows. I was finally able to get a good look at one of them. They were House Finches. They were busy eating the seeds on the tree. What was making the noise were the seeds that were knocked loose or the little wing part that was discarded. It was a delightful part of Thanksgiving morning.
